The Castle Cove Enrolment Policy reflects the procedures outlined by the Department of the Education and Training for all primary school. These state that ...
- all children between the ages of 6 and 15 must attend school every half day that it is opened.
- children who attain the age of five years prior to the 31st July in that year may be enrolled from the second day of the school year, or at any time up until the end of term 2.
- students on transfer and children reaching the statutory age of 6 years are also eligible to enrol.
Local enrolment area is determined by the Department of Education and Training and identified on a map available from the school administration office. The designated drawing area for Castle Cove Public School includes Castle Cove, Middle Cove and Roseville Chase, bounded by Eastern Valley Way, Chase Avenue and Sugarloaf Crescent.
All students living within the local enrolment area are entitled to enrol and will be offered a place at Castle Cove Public School.
'In Area' Enrolment Procedures:
- Download an application for Enrolment at Castle Cove Public School. You may ask for an enrolment form at the School's administration office as well.
- Complete the form and present any necessary documentation to the school. Documentation may include:
- birth certificate / immunisation certificate for Kindergarten
- passport / immigration certificates / visas for new arrivals
- transfer certificate for students transferring from NSW state schools.

Kindergarten enrolments can be made at any time during the year, for registration and placement on a list for the following year.
- Out of Area applications will be considered by the Principal and will follow the same procedures for In Area enrolments.
- All accepted enrolments are notified of the Kindergarten Orientation program, at which all school procedures are explained.
- Kindergarten starts on the second day of the school year, at 9:30am. Each new kindergarten student will be met by their "Big Buddy". The "Big Buddy" peer program assists all new kindergarten students by allocating a year 6 or 5 student to support and assist each individual kindergarten student to become acquainted and feel safe within the school.
The school will consider early entry enrolment in accordance with the Policy for the Education of Gifted and Talented Students 2004 and Guidelines for Accelerated Progression 2000.
Applications will be assessed by the School Counselor and Learning Support Team.

An appraisal of the student's learning support needs, in consultation with parents and carers, will be made in accordance with DET policy in Special Education Handbook for Schools 1998. The appraisal will consider areas such as curriculum, mobility, social skills, personal care and communication.

- Download and complete a Temporary Visa Holders Enrolment Application. You may ask for an enrolment form at the School's administration office as well. For more information regarding enrolling as a temporary student please click here.
- Provide the necessary documentation with the application form to the School. Passports, all visa documentation and evidence of children's immunisation status are some of the documents required.
- Forward the completed application form to the IBU (International Business Unit) of the Department of Education and Training, together with payment, if applicable. For further information about school fees and payments please click here.
If approved the IBU will then issue you with an Authority to Enrol in a Government School.
