Year 5 Bike Safety
Students had a fun and educational day at the St Ives' Community And Road Education Scheme(CARES) learning to ride a bike safely and developing their road skills under the guidance of two police officers.
The day started with safety videos and riding around an obstacle course. This was followed by practical on-road experience gained by cycling around a specially built half-scale network which featured intersections with traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, right and left hand turns, speed humps and many of the road features and signage encountered on regular roads.
